What it does

Paste a whole newsletter, a list of bookmarks or a page of links. Every link is found and stripped of known tracking parameters, and the chart shows which parameters turned up most, so you can see at a glance which senders tag their links. The list it removes is Firefox's query-stripping list plus utm_*, gclid and msclkid, which we add because they are common; why these parameters exist and which ones Mozilla strips is on tracking parameters in links, along with a cleaner for a single link.

How to use it

  1. Copy a newsletter, a list of bookmarks or a page of links.
  2. Paste it into the box. Links are found and cleaned as you paste.
  3. Copy the clean links and share those instead.

Limits

  • Some sites need a parameter to show the right page; if a clean link breaks, use the original.
  • Tracking can also happen through redirect links that pass through the sender's server; cleaning parameters does not change those.
  • Nothing is opened or sent. The text stays in your browser.
